This is a weekly newsletter brought to you by a former fashion editor, aka me, Lina. I will particularly cover digital wearables and their role in the gaming and fashion industry.

INTRODUCTION
Today, I want to welcome some new subscribers! I am super grateful to have you here with us! I get a lot of questions from my web2 friends about where they should go to understand what the Metaverse is. So, I am dedicating part of a newsletter to helping understand what it is and what it could be one day.
METAVERSE, WHO?
Simply put, the Metaverse is an alternative reality in which people can live their other lives. It's where your crypto wallet address identifies you and lets you create any identity you wish. But, of course, there are different reasons why people go there, and there are plenty of potentials where it could lead.
A lot of different things can be called a Metaverse. But, for now, there are a couple of directions for this concept. The most popular one and I bet you have heard - is games. For example, Sandbox is an expansive Metaverse to play, build, own, and monetize the virtual experience. The game allows players and brands to become creators and monetize their work. Logging into the Sandbox game is like logging into any other game on PC. The main difference - you own your game assets on blockchain as NFTs.
Another great example of what Metaverse can be is a virtual world, Decentraland. The Ethereum-based 3-dimensional virtual platform offers a lot - from poker nights to night clubbing. Logging into the world is through the browser using your MetaMask crypto wallet (for beginners' experience, you can visit it as a guest, where no crypto wallet is required).
I'd say, for now, the Metaverse is a virtual realm where you log in with your crypto wallet and where you can interact and participate in an economic and social activity using NFTs as assets.

What is your inspiration, and how do you manage your creative process?
My creative process is often at the mercy of my ambition. Luckily I have a great business partner who keeps me anchored.
I am inspired by many things, including the historical repertoire of game art styles, but mainly I am inspired to push boundaries, not just be the first to execute something like a silly badge of honor to gloat about, but something that utilizes NFTs to give power to the collector other than to just sell it. Digital fashion inspires me in that capacity, also.
If you could say just one thing about what is the key to digital creativity? What would it be?
Think about the technology and how it can be utilized in new dynamics and not in a gimmicky way to make quick cash. But a way that digital assets can be enjoyed by people in a way where their purchases aren't just a weak excuse for wealth extraction.
How do you see the future of the Metaverse(s)?
I see the future of Metaverses being like a street of 100 coffee shops. People will try each of them out now and again but will ultimately stick to their favorite one until it goes out of business. Then move on to the next.
The real question will be, can they redeem the loyalty card they've fully stamped in the previous shop, and who funds these franchises? Does the retail user's money go back into an ecosystem that serves them (in this hilarious parallel, the coffee bean growers?), and the project or increasingly pays out to a series of individuals who happened to be early (investors at the expense of every worker in the hierarchy)?
